QUICK WARNING that this isn't a really fun post or anything jerkable!!! it's me talking about real-life stuff and thinking about what sort of patreon tiers would be best and it's Kind Of Real

i haven't drawn in a hot minute. i'm doing okay! still recovering from that recent mope session! i even drew a couple times since, huh? that morgue, that feral llama vic that i'm weirdly apprehensive about posting on patreon, uhh quick detour

it was like totally sfw but i've heard patreon has cracked down on hmm, hypno and feral to the extent of like, taurs even? and like it wasn't porny and it's a sapient temporarily-transformed vic who's making a coronavirus joke but i don't wanna have anything on my patreon that seems fishy, even a link that's like CLICK HERE FOR MY FERAL THING I CAN'T POST TO PATREON lmfao

i just think it'd be a bad look to whatever poor overworked and underpaid intern if they see pic after pic of furry porn and then a feral llama drawn in the exact same style as the furry porn, look over at their badly-compressed .jpg they got emailed that has visual examples of what's against the rules, see the feral porn, and then go "ah, yeah" and click the "ban" button, you know?

so that's a reason why i just like, posted to twitter and fa and stuff and didn't mention. it was recently if you wanna check my twitter!

i'm thinking of just doing some more text posts on here from time to time, and i think that's a good segue to talking about POSSIBLE TIERS as well!

now there's something a little awkward that's happened but i just wanted to be as transparent as possible ahah. like i thought i'd talk about my whole mental process going on here as i'm thinking about tiers

i only ever intended to do things as a tip jar -- mostly coming from the thought that i'd never be organized enough to keep source files, or productive enough to stick to a schedule and be able to gate content or whatever

it's not really like a big noble goal of mine where everyone should be able to pay $1 and get access to literally everything i make. i'm not planning on ever taking anything away but like, well i'll get to it. but this is awkward because i say in my description... well, i'll just paste it, for posterity:

i thought i'd make a patreon just as kind of a tip jar. i'm not interested in having a paywall and i don't do commissions, but i was  thinking of doing some patron-only stuff if folks are interested! like:

- blog posts about my characters and their world!

- small doodles and work-in-progress stuff!

- finished drawings a little early

this is awkward because it kind of reads like i'm firmly proclaiming hello yes, this is the only content that is going to be gated! iiii'm not interested in having a paywall or doing commissions!

and the thing is, that was absolutely 100% true at the time. lately though like, honestly i'd love to be able to do commissions. that's a goal of mine!

but okay the thing is like, you can't really like, take away benefits from patrons. that would be super shitty. and i don't intend on doing this! all the stuff i've posted is all $1 stuff and will continue being so, including new blog posts and porno drawings and whatever! i don't want people to even have to pay at all to see my art, and the patreon stuff is just kind of like uhh, dvd special features, you know?

so the tiers i was thinking were $1, whatever smallish range i figure out is appropriate for the largest amount of patrons, and something bigger than that. you already know the $1 tier -- this and my porno drawings and stuff is basically it. that's like, the entirety of what i've been posting

but i discussed how i might just make coupons for merch or mail stickers out to you or whatever at some point -- i'd like to silkscreen my own shirts and prints at some point! -- but i think i might reserve coupons/stickers/whatevers for the higher tiers just so i don't have to make like 30 coupons for $1 off potentially every month

maybe if i could afford to spend more time on patreon and furry stuff i'd have my own storefront site and handle my own fulfillment and do the sorta cute handmade merch i've been wanting to do, but the logistics of being able to do coupons for potentially literally every one of my patrons is like, seriously not doable for me at this point in my life

so at the risk of sounding like a complete sociopath, there has to be some kind of way to filter benefits so less people can go for it. it's like if i had a tier where i go out to eat with you -- i couldn't afford to do that with everybody so it'd have to be like at least $300 so i can drive out or whatever the fuck and also, most importantly, so i don't have to spend more time than i have every month doing it

like i'd love to spend as much time on furry porn and talking to you lovely folks and having cool and exciting benefits as i would a full time job but i just don't have the time currently, so i gotta filter it out somehow haha... so that's my reasoning for the coupons/stickers/whatevers idea i'd discussed

i'm not sure how many of those 13 people are $1 patrons -- who i value immensely! $1 patrons are the bulk of my patrons. like the main reason i can't give all the benefits to my $1 patrons is because it would involve generating like 30 something coupons and printing 30 stickers or w/e just in case lmfao TωT so yeah i appreciate all of you!

but it's unfortunate because this could have been avoided if i'd been more business-minded (yuck) in the first place and thought about tiers and had gone like ooh free trial, and gussied it up like an aol free dialup trial or something, right? that would have been funny

but i'm not very business-minded. and it's kind of counterintuitive here because the result of being business-minded in this one particular instance would have been better to everyone, even my $1 patrons who wanted source files

like, i'm thinking of having source files be for the middle tier and up. (and maybe even something funky someday where you can get a creative commons tier if you want to make a non-commercial porn game with my art or something??)

i just hope i wasn't leading anyone on, and i hope i can make it up to you if i was and you're finding this all super uncool

like, i plan on adding stuff to the $1 tier too!! i just have patrons paying me more than $1 and i'd love to show them a little extra appreciation if possible TωT

and honestly i'm like way too nice for my own good so if you really wanna see source for a particular image you can just ask me! but that's probably a little awkward

and i still need to come up with stuff for the higher tier, but i was thinking that'd be like physical rewards, which i haven't had the emotional/mental energy to work on much hahah... tbh it could even be fun to have like V.I.P. points where every month you build up Points and can turn them in for a free thing after a while. maybe! i'll have to think about it more

but yeah, the main thing is i'm thinking about adding at least one more tier, and making source files be for the tier(s) above $1, just to show some extra appreciation for those folks

and re: posts uhh basically i was planning on posting some more lore stuff! i'd like to draw some stuff for it but i've got some fun ideas to share, i think!

like i'd like to draw more for sure but while i'm depressed i don't draw a whole lot (but it is getting better in general! and i'd like to be drawing every day soon!)

but i do still write a lot and have ideas. so i might do some text-only blog posts sometimes if you folks don't mind!
