it's funny, semi-recently on mastodon -- i'm @vic@snouts.online and i'm way active there if you ever wanna see what video games i'm playing or what i'm getting mad about in linux -- but anyway, like uh, a few months ago on mastodon i was complaining about how bullet spongey and bad enemies were in quake, and how bad quake is

which is silly because i'm like a Depressed Millennial Goth so of course i love quake. i was playing it a few months ago a LOT because quake injector makes it just so gosh darn easy to binge quake maps

but yeah like, old fps games. that's kind of candy's shtick, you know? she's the old fps protagonist waifu. it's a shtick i'm surprised i haven't seen more... she's toonier (the skimpy getup and huge laser gun etc) than someone like duke nukem is because it's a hypothetical like, what if like, you know how there was duke nukem 1 and 2 and they looked like this?

and then they redesign him to be way way way edgier in duke nukem 3d right? like tipping strippers, saying cusses, etc. i find that hilarious, conceptually

so an idea i've toyed with for like, Candy's Shtick is that like uh, she's kind of like if the duke nukem 3d process had happened to like, a game like jazz jackrabbit basically. like if lori was the main character of jazz jackrabbit

like cutesy run-and-gun featuring a bunny girl with a laser gun, and then it gets like super edgy and explicit and she's constantly saying cusses and smoking and having sex lmfao
