The Lac-Mégantic Disaster
Added 2022-01-25 11:15:01 +0000 UTCThis is a disaster I've been asked to cover many times over the last year or so... but I always had to put it off because there was so much reading to do, so much material to cover, and so many details to get to grips with.
If you want to learn more, the official accident report is a great place to start. It lays everything out very clearly and in great detail.
But there's another source I think is vital to understanding this disaster. It's this one, which tells the stories of specific survivors. It really drives home what the disaster felt like to live through, and what effect it had on everyone involved... even people who weren't injured or killed.

That's interesting to hear. It's a good thing, I think, that it's still talked about within the company - hopefully it means the changes brought in afterwards have really stuck!
