People have claimed that it was actually a gas leak that was covered up by the hospital, a deliberate poisoning, or the result of an alien abduction.
The next most plausible theory relates to methylamine – a controlled substance that can be used in the production of the illegal drug crystal meth. Methylamine is available in hospitals, as it is used in some cleaning solutions.
The theory runs that hospital staff were smuggling methylamine out of the hospital to sell to drug dealers, using IV bags to transport the substance. One of these was accidentally used on Gloria Ramirez, and the methylamine reacted with the oxygen, creating a toxic substance that caused the symptoms seen in staff.
Although it’s possible, there's not much evidence that supports this theory. What do you think?
