She lived like a normal changeling, but being more aggressive than most she was quickly assigned to become a warrior.
She's well trained for neutralizing her targets and bringing them home to the hive where they'll be drained for love.
Though high ranking, she wasn't acknowledged much by Chrysalis until her actions aided in Chrysalis' conquest to take over Equestria.
Apodeme is wearing typical changeling armor, blocking in places that are easily attacked, but also exposing her means of draining love.
The spikes to the side of her torso helps her subdue her target as they'll struggle to resist as they don't want to be stabbed when she drains their love.
The rare times the changelings would attack through other means than ambush, they'd usually transform their enchanted armor to better cover their vitals.
When she's not hunting ponies to drain for love, she likes to assert dominance in the hive. For a changeling, this is the closest you get to being a celebrity,
bringing the food and showing her strength is enough to make most changelings submit and adore her.
