Tyler actually did this because he had beef with Funk Flex. When Odd Future was first starting out, Flex was one of their biggest haters, wouldn't play any of their songs, and would talk shit about them being "weird" whenever they were brought up on his show. Then after Tyler blew up, he invited him to the show and tried to pretend like he's always been a fan. That's why Tyler called him a "geek goop nerd fuck" to his face right before the freestyle, and then did the freestyle just to make him even more uncomfortable.
