Saying it’s inevitable that his music and artistry is going to change, become more commercial probably, but he hopes that we’ll still appreciate him and love him before “they” all love him. “They” being the masses. Because he knows he’s going to blow up and start getting love from everyone and it’s going to change things. But until then he’s “got you”, meaning us as fans and going to give us the best of him. He’s talked about this song before, so this isn’t me speculating. I can see the angle you interpreted it from, but there’s more just another layer to it. Also, fun fact, he doesn’t remember recording the song Gone. Apparently he was so fucked up on drugs he just went in the studio and freestyled the whole thing 😂 Pretty incredible
