A new 'ramble' video!

Thank you for your patience everybody! With the new shop now up and running basically smoothly, I have to get focussed on making more videos for you.

So here we are with the first one to be recorded down at the new location of my carving bench - right in the entrance to the shop itself! The topic is something that I have been asked about time and time again ... how did I get started in this craft of Japanese printmaking.

I thought that the best way to tell the story would be to do a 'Show & Tell' about the first set of prints that I ever bought, and how they influenced me heavily.

Part two shouldn't be too long now!

Thanks, David - I'm anxiously awaiting Part 2! I hope you have a chance to do your own version of those prints, as they are truly stunning artwork.

This was a beautiful story, David! That first piece you show from the series, with the transparent drapery and the fireflies, is probably the most stunning woodblock print I have ever seen. I can see why it affected you so much. Do you think you would be able to work out a deal with the original artist and make a new print series of it, since you have the original blocks? Maybe that can be the first collaboration you two have, even if it's really just a business deal.
