WWE Smackdown in MSG Presale Thread
Added 2021-07-08 14:22:00 +0000 UTCStay tuned to this post for updated counts throughout the day.
78 people were ahead of me in the queue.
First counts:
10:05AM: Available => 3,822
10:18AM: Available => 2,140
10:25AM: Available => 2,322 (some people likely released tickets they had in their cart)
10:44AM: Available => 2,176
12:56PM: Available => 1,832
1:33PM: Available => 1,717
2:47PM: Available => 1,614
3:42PM: Available => 1,829 (noticed it wasn't counting Official Platinum seats so I had to alter the code a bit to account for those, only happens during presales).
4:25PM: Available => 1,752
6:00PM: Available => 1,905 (They opened up section 211 more (likely fully open now) - this is what I meant by the upper deck only being partially open in most spots)
9:16PM: Available => 1,738
Did some DEEP number crunching to pull the following numbers based off 100% closed sections:
Available Tickets => 1,738
Unopened Sections (as of now) => 10,211
Every seat on the map => 17,785
Estimated capacity/setup => 7,574
Important to note: Not all sections were fully opened, especially in the upper deck so you can't derive a Tickets Distributed figure by subtracting the Available tickets number from the Estimated capacity just yet. We can confidently say they've sold over 2K seats today so far.

I think what a lot of people don’t realise is that they struggled to sell out MSG in 2019, and it actually did their lowest numbers there for a long time. They got this date when Maroon 5 moved their show, and according to Meltzer, it was 100% intentional to get the jump in NYC both with on-sale dates and the actual date. I think with hindsight we can see they might have shot themselves in the foot, although you never know with a general sale, it could do well. But I think AEW in NYC may out draw them.

2021-07-08 23:30:09 +0000 UTCQuite disappointing, this. Wonder if AEW's hyped stadium show on-sale next week has dampened the sales here initially.
