AEW announces United Center for Rampage on August 20th

The big event announcement, as I'm sure most of you heard by now is AEW running the United Center in Chicago for the August 20th edition of Rampage: "The First Dance."

Immediately after the announcement, Darby and Sting were interviewed and Darby dropped a best in the world reference. Loud CM Punk chants were heard after they announced the venue.

This is the Friday before SummerSlam. Some have tweeted me they will be stopping in Chicago for this show before they hit Vegas for SummerSlam.

Tickets go on sale THIS MONDAY (8/2) and I will be all over it. United Center uses Ticketmaster which means you will get the most unprecedented ticket information out there. You will not want to miss this. I am going to be frantically working on finishing up some scripts this weekend.

As I mentioned in my previous post about this announcement, I heard it was related to the United Center shortly after the tease last week and one other interesting thing was how soon I heard it was happening. The one major report out there had this as a date near Thanksgiving which on paper makes more sense but sometimes you have to strike when the iron is hot. They clearly believe the heavy hints toward CM Punk will sell that place out.
