Please suggest alternatives to Tumblr
Added 2018-11-23 21:06:56 +0000 UTCThe Tumblr NSFW blog purge is starting to look VERY permanent. Numerous tech blogs have written about the situation, and while it has not been explicitly said, I believe tumblr management is making a push to eliminate enough pornography to please their Apple store + advertiser overlords.
That means it's TIME TO MOVE! (Even if my blog does get restored, which is seeming less likely, I can't really enjoy the freedom of drawing with a corporate ax held above my head.)
So, I'm looking for good alternative destinations to post my pics. Requirements are:
1. They are OK with NSFW.
2. Easy to browse, share, etc.
3. Can "reply" to posts in some way, so I can have a dialogue with followers (a big source of inspiration, especially the meme pics)
In the meantime, please consider this Patreon page and my Pixiv as a base of operations, and please spread the word about my pages so people can find me. (That tumblr had 19800+ followers when it was deleted.)

There's bdsmlr.com but I guess that's not really the best place...

2021-09-05 20:44:03 +0000 UTCCome to twitter, there are ton of adult artists and Japanese doujinshi artists (even hardcore r-18 artists) that use twitter to display their work and communicate with their audience. Communication/reply at twitter is way more easier than tumblr. さっさとツイッターに来いよ!

2018-11-24 07:24:18 +0000 UTCI'd recommend both Twitter and Hentai Foundry. Twitter caters more to you being able to have dialogue with your followers with how sociable the site is while Hentai Foundry caters more to NSFW artists since that's what the site is all about.

2018-11-24 01:10:44 +0000 UTCTwitter's fine with NSFW, I follow tons of adult artists there. If people get banned it's for drawing loli/shota/etc. and even then it's not stringently enforced due to how massive the site is. It's probably the best place for an artist to socialize+interact with followers, so long as you've got another site to act as a gallery, which patreon and your mega archive work as.

2018-11-23 22:34:04 +0000 UTCI know artists promote themselves through twitter, but do they post NSFW directly? (i.e. I'm worried about getting deleted like tumblr, because of Western morality toward the feelings of drawn pictures)

2018-11-23 21:13:00 +0000 UTCWell, a few people are going to Newgrounds for the time-being until a better platform can be made. Everyone else seems to have some issue with nsfw.
