patreon

New payment structure (continued)

Thanks for all the feedback.

Many people notified me that raffles are not allowed by Patreon, so I will eliminate the RNG option.

The main concern with having an expensive "luxury" tier with 10 or so slots was that the same people would sit on their slots forever, and they would never open up. I'm not really familiar with the extent of the Patreon system's capabilities, but is it possible to reset the slots on a monthly basis, so there would be a way for new people to get into the tier?

almost forgot to mention that when you delete the tier all the patreons in that tier will still have their pledge amount to you still be whatever amount the luxry tier was so for example if the luxry tier was $10 and i got in that tier for the month of January, when you delete that tier for new people to join in the month of February i will still be paying $10 to you but i wouldn't be placed in a tier. obviously its our own responsibility to manage how much we pledge to you but this whole scenario can cause probelmes if you delete the tier late in the month not allowing people to adjust how much they pledge to you in time and I'm sure that not alot of people know this about patreon when it comes to deleting tiers. so yeah, if this the route you decide to go down then expect alot of micro managing on your end.

Yeah deleting the tier each month would reset everything allowing new people to get that tier the next time you put it back up again next month. As I said before, if you do decide to do that then i think its only fair you announce the time and date of when those luxry slots open up again instead of randomly putting them up because of varying timezone differences people have as well as you randomly putting up slots being considered a form of RNG to the patreon resulting in you getting suspended.

Not without a bunch of micromanagement.

No way to reset unfortunately. One of the better ways I've seen the too-many-requests-too-little-time handled was by BBC-chan, who does a point system. According to his sytem, people get points after every month, a flat amount for the pledge and amount dependent on the tier (higher tier = more points). Then he tallies up the points and the people with the most get requests, and have a certain amount of points subtracted every time they get a request. That way, everyone eventually gets a request, and there's an incentive to buy in the higher tiers (b/c higher tiers accumulate points faster and get more requests). The obvious main downside is that you'd have to make a giant spreadsheet to keep track of everyone's points, and that takes up time.

You could do it so that you get one like every 3 months so that it's divided up

Yeah that's kind of like the opposite of what patreon is intended for so I doubt there's an automatic way to do it.

I've had to wait before so i get it

No way to reset

other than deleting the tier and re-adding it each month I don't think there's a way to reset it
