THE LAST UPDATE

Hello guys!

Today I'm placing the last drop of color on the new cartoon, as I'm finishing up the Demon Princes' boss fight.

That means that tomorrow I will begin reviewing the script and then start the voice acting. I'm pushing through this final phase of production and it's been a very demanding time for me. But first: I'm very sorry if I wasn't able to finish the video this month, like I promised in the last update. But I assure you that i did everything in my power to make it happen. My daily routine of work with the coloring was pure insanity, clocking around 13, sometimes 14, hours per day, because I was hoping  (desperately) to get this done in time, but it was just not possible in the end. One scene in particular, took me a total of 28 hours and 30 minutes to complete. I actually recorded myself working on this scene all the way through, and after the video is out, I will actually show you the footage and how ridiculous it was.

I know that many of you don't really care about deadlines, you guys ALWAYS tell me (in the comments, and in the livestreams especially) that you care more about my well being and that you know that true quality takes time and that you have no issue waiting. That speaks volumes on how loyal, generous and mature you are, but it still doesn't justify the fact that I always underestimate the amount of work required. I'm really sorry for that and I take full responsibility for my mistake. Deadlines are vital for me to keep me disciplined and aim for an objective. And In many cases, I'm able to fulfill my daily objective in schedule (let's say," today I'm going to color 4 scenes") but in the bigger scope, it's discouraging when i realize that despite my efforts, there's just too much damn work piling up and variables to consider, and I end up missing the mark. I just wish that I was able to keep these "wishful thinking" deadlines to myself, but my instinct to share my hope with you takes the best of me!..

So for this reason, I'm going to shut up now and go through the final phase of completion without giving any deadlines. All I know is that the sooner this comes out, the better, as getting close to June would not be smart AT ALL in terms of Youtube performance. So it's in my best interest to wrap this up as soon as possible and i also know that the visual part (which is the most challenging) at least is now finally completed. To me, this is unquestionably the best Dark Souls toon of the 3, and a peak in my entire carrier in terms of overall quality.

Speaking of 3.... one more thing: I've got 3 more coloring livestreams left, the first will be next Tuesday's evening at 9 pm Central European Time. It was going to be yesterday, but guess what, i didn't have the time, i had to reschedule.

I hope to see you there, and thank you once again for your faith in me and your support which is my greatest motivation.

That's awesome beclet, if you say so that makes me genuinely happy ^^

That's absolutely true Ashey. I usually try to add that 20% like you said, but the problem is that i always try to improve on the animations with each parody (whether is longer videos, or smoother animations), and so the estimate still doesn't work. I need to stop raising the bar and settle for something good enough and reasonable. :)

You work so hard omg thank you! Your passion motivates me! 😁

As always awesome work! I get it Shez, the deadlines need to be real or you lose track of the process. Think of it as a learning process, this time you underestimated, so you know now things take longer. Try adding 20% or 30% to your estimates and see if you are closer next time. Predicting the future is hard but a valuable skill. :D
