My Policy On Private Consultations

Insofar as private consultations go, I’m humbled that you would want to share your personal lives with me, and want my opinion about what’s going on with your lives. I am even more flattered that you would value my advice and seek it out.

I don’t do many private consultations, because they take a lot out of me on an emotional level. I know that sounds pussy—but it’s true. Hearing someone else’s problems, or learning about their situation, and trying to give an intelligent analysis and perspective, is both emotionally draining and very time-consuming.

That said, many people are still very insistent. That’s why I occasionally do private consults. But I deliberately charge an arm and a leg in order to cut down on the demand.

For a one hour private Skype call, I charge $500. The person who wants the private call has to send me a detailed letter at least three days before the call, explaining what he wants me to analyze or give advice on. That way, we don’t waste any time getting me up to speed on his situation or problems, and also, I have at least three days to think over that person’s situation or problem.

For a two page written response, I charge $250. Just like with the Skype call, I need a detailed written account of your situation, that is no longer than 1500 words.

In both cases, payment has to be in advance. And there is no right to a refund, unless I don’t do the Skype call, or don’t write the response within 14 days of payment. I also reserve the right to cancel any consult, at any time, and issue a full refund within seven days after cancellation.

Of course, never forget that I am not a licensed mental health professional of any sort. I’m only giving life advice and or life coaching, nothing more. And I certainly do not give financial advice under any circumstance.
