2020-06-18 00:59:48 +0000 UTCWell, it's not 4-D chess, it's much simpler than that. The blue mayors/governors had to stop the riots and they did not. I wouldn't discard that they were baiting the federal government to act invoking the Insurrection Act (which at some point Trump threatened doing,) people would have been killed, and then the whole political nightmare. Besides, the blue states elected blue mayors and governors. Is it the duty of the federal government to save those states from their own idiocy? Let's see who they're going to elect next... But in any case, can the I.A. be invoked when the state authorities seem to be in control (it's their choice not to act nor ask for federal assistance) and they are not disobeying or in rebellion against the federal government?
