Overall very interesting analysis although the bias in favor of Russia is unfortunate, especially from this Alex fellow. Still think it’s crazy that people are advocating for young people to move to Russia, while smart Russians are fleeing Russia, but I guess people will have to find out the hard way. I’d check out Nomad Capitalist for suggestions on where to go, the guy knows his stuff and has built a whole business around it.

Just finished listening to this. Super depressing. Hard to get excited about anything after that.

Related to this (what Alex Christoforou said in particular around the 1 hour mark) and to CRP's post/short video that followed right after this one: Keep an eye on the so-far-silent march of "ESG Scores."
ESG is billed as something for companies and finance to pay attention to, but there are already ones, already as of this Spring (if not earlier) who are rating retail-level people, customers in effect (that is, all of us ultimately - individuals, not just businesses) on their "ESG Scores."
That said, hopefully "Who knows" is correct that crypto will form an alternate system to escape this, but the main sociopolitics is already lining up with the idea that Brave New World with a dash of Ninteen Eighty-Four is the blueprint, not cautionary tales. The raised nails will be pounded down. And it turns out most people, even within the half that doesn't like this, value their comfort more than they value their liberty. These are the sort of people who will grab their weapon and stand and fight if confronted with a hard tyranny, but when confronted with a soft tyranny that threatens day-to-day inconveniences rather than bullets in the back of the head they say "well, wadda ya gonna do about it" and go back to snarfing the burger. I love these people but I also feel the trap, the net woven around us all by this indolence in the face of possible inconvenience.

I'd say crypto is counterculture. People feel empowered here.

What a great surprise to bring on the Greeks! 3 of may favorite people together. They have great insight into most of global politics. I believe that the discussion about the political system in China touched only the surface. The CCP is more of a NS party rather than a Leninist party. A person with very good knowledge of that part of the world is Mark Fabre, another non-PC guy that would be a great guest.
