I think the topic of homosexuality is a fascinating one. I don't think that in most cases it's caused by some trauma. I think sexuality is something so fundamental about a person that it can't be changed by some event. Then again I've never experienced something deeply traumatic like sexual abuse. Yet being abused or traumatised doesn't always cause someone to become gay. From my experience of what I've seen and heard, it is usually something pretty in-born and clear from childhood or adolescence, without some life event causing it. Which is what you seem to suggest by seeing they are broken. Sure there might be some such cases but I think it's not the most common ones. Because the ones who had bad childhoods, abuse, or traumatic events would simply become incels, not gay.
