Weekly Webinar #51: “The Movies You Must Watch—And Why ”

I will forsure watch these movies. But shouldn't The Dark Knight rises be in the list? The joker in that movie is so relevant still today.

I wished the Red dead redemption games were a show/movies Dutch van der Linde is one of the best antagonists ever created. If you're not familiar with him watch some clips. Great voice acting and you understand why all the posse members follow him (it's about an outlaw gang at the end of the wild west era).

Can we get this pdf from somewhere?

There's this movie from 1999 called "The Matrix". It's a cool movie. Its metaphors have been appropriated by an entire generation of men and shaped their political discourse, transcending the intention of its original creators who found themselves on the opposite camp and have unsurprisingly failed at creating anything of any impact since. You should watch it.

Great webinar coach! On top of your list I would add the following: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) The Revenant (2015) The Big Short (2015) The Artist (2011) Spotlight (2015) Vertigo (1958) 12 Angry Men (1957)

indeed!

Piero San Giorgio

I think The Departed and Lawrence of Arabia are major films to watch. Dark Knight was great too. Also, what are your thoughts on mad max fury road? As an action movie it blew me away. Went way beyond my expectations. It was a bit silly to see Charlize Theron go toe to toe with Tom Hardy nina fist fight...but other than that, it was phenomenal.

I really do recommend to watch best comedy Louis De Funes films!

It would be endless.

Oscar Bait™.

If by your own admission I'm on the mark about other filmmakers . . . wouldn't it mean I'm more likely correct with regards to Kubrick?

NETWORK!!!!!! idiot hahaha

You crap on Kubrick and then prasie strangelove?!

You are way off about Kubrick....spot on about most other artists

There will be Blood!!!!!!!!!

Can you make a best movies of all time list

Miggie88

Talk about the book of Ecclesiastes in the bible

What are some of the best foreign / non-english language films?

There haven’t been any good movies in the last 10–15 years. If you think I’m wrong, please name some.

This guy doesn't mention a single movie from 2005 and beyond. Heavily influenced in the past.

Brilliant presentation. I agree that the great age of movies is over, as are the peaks of the novel, classical music, etc etc. Where will the talent go next? I'm pessimistic. There were eras in the past of low creative energy, and I think we're in one of those already. We're all overwhelmed by curating the massive amounts of media available to us, and basically we sit around in a stupor.

MagicWheel

And Dr Zhivago didn't make the list wtf!

And Yes I'd like to see why you don't like MASH, I never liked it either.

Any reason why "The Untouchables" didn't make the list? and "American Psycho"?
