California was doing great and peaceful for decades, but then the Left Wing Politics attacked!

It's called "Skin in the game" (not a racial reference). The vote should only be extended to those who have a stake in things. Such set-ups have existed in the past in some countries like Rhodesia and Iceland. You cannot just vote other people's money to yourself for nothing in return. For instance, only tax payers should be allowed to vote on an issue that would entail increases in taxes. Just one example. I am not against the democratic process as such, but democracy cannot be an end in itself. It is only defensible to the extent that it protects individual freedom.

We are on the road to totalitarianism or direct democracy. Honestly, either one would be a better choice than this current paradigm. I’m bias for direct democracy, but if things get really bad then we won’t be able to stop totalitarianism from emerging. Hopefully socialism dies during the change.

The left is pro killing babies. However, they are against protecting your own life from crime and censorship. A lot of their policies and stances are a facade for power.
