There will be no surrender of Ukraine. Russians are getting their ass handed to them so far, and they have zero chance of winning this war in the long run. Their army is exhausted and demoralized, and their economy is a wreck. They can’t continue this much longer. All they can do is nuke Ukraine at this point, but that would be a hollow victory with disastrous ramifications for Russia as you might imagine.

Gonzalo, r.e. the "British bombing their own people" link that was shared, I sent it to my dad to comment, He spent a lot longer in the army than I, is an avid WW2 historian given he was born in the middle of it, has a PhD and used to write for Military Journals. British, and Australian, army medium artillery at the time was 5.5 inch and these were towed behind trucks. They were big but nothing like the main armament on board a battleship. The guns on Mudchute Farm (near where my paternal grandfather came from) are the standard 3.7 inch (approx. 94 mm) British army HAA. His photo is of one such piece. For comparison, the Germans used the 88 mm over their cities and the flak tower you saw in Berlin was equipped with dual guns of around 130 mm. Anti-aircraft guns were designed to explode at a defined altitude so only shrapnel (or the odd shell that did not explode) came down.
