Loving this content. Yes, as an American, I will say the US government is utterly bankrupt in morals. Everything is strategy, manipulation, and control in the name of Our Lady Commerce. Internally, too, we are basically just a loose collection of fiefs. Even the small power the federal government has is justified only by two constitutional clauses: the necessary and proper clause, and the interstate commerce clause. The necessary and proper clause justifies things in the name of national security. The interstate commerce clause is, on the other hand, like an internal version of NAFTA, or any other free trade agreement. Goods and commodified labor can float between state lines, but nothing else. The US began the international war on drugs in the late sixties simply to justify both its racist projects at home, and its imperial projects abroad. Both fall under the general header of anticommunism. And they pretty much still operate that way today, for the most part. The Republican Party legitimizes its non-agenda on the grounds that it is, at the very least, not like the socialist Dems.
