The last few minutes refer to “crisis capitalism” as described in Naomi Klein’s book “Shock Doctrine.” Good read and I wish I had read it earlier.

2021-01-04 05:26:19 +0000 UTCRegarding the discussion of propaganda, Erik’s take is spot on imo. There is a great book called propaganda Art in the 21st Century. By Jonas Staal that talks about how much of art is a form of propaganda and he analyzes how it evolved throughout history. Propaganda does not have to be a negative thing nor is it necessarily “intentional misleading.” Even when it comes to right wing propaganda, many purveyors believe what their propaganda is fully truthful and would not consider what they say to be lies. When you listen to Steve Bannon interviews, you can tell he believes everything he says, even though his documentaries are filled with nonsense. butI think he believes it
