Walter Kaufman's Her is a great meditation on technology and relationships. It's not apocalyptic, but it definitely touches on some great points apropros modernity, technology, the mediation of human interaction, etc.

2022-11-24 03:15:56 +0000 UTCBataille's novel Blue of Noon is an excellent meditation on sex, death, aggressive violence, and revolution of both fascist and communist varieties. It's one of the best novels I've read. And it's conveniently a short read.
