I used to be a software engineer who worked on the web (left that shitty job in the dust about a month ago!) so I have a decent understanding of this whole landscape and she is completely paranoid and basically taking all of the marketing bait from the big tech companies. Most of the mechanics that she describes are more or less technically true but she leaves out the part of them being extremely shitty and arguably useless in reality.

His critique of capitalism's relation to digital technology is much more grounded in the technical aspects of computing and is much more continuous with the history of computers since he's been working with them from the beginning of the industry. But his critique goes down to the level of processor microcode rather than just high-level internet telemetry.
