Hi Ian! Some fans and I noticed that Eggman was acting different during the Metal Virus arc, being more careless than usual. Was this because he was still affected by his amnesia episode, a plot device to make Starline disappointed or just the direction that SEGA wanted with him?

The Sonic and Mario video game universes have swapped. Sonic is now a portly plumber saving Princess Rose from the tyrannical King Eggman. Mario is now the fastest thing alive stopping Dr. Bowser from conquering the world. What other changes exist, and who is who? Side note: I can’t imagine King Eggman would have any interest in marrying Princess Rose, unless all their ages swapped, too. Bonus: Now you have access to alternate media. Is Princess Rose now Princess Acorn? Is Bivalve the new Calamity Clam? You guys decide!

I understand a certain level of professional unbiased-ness is required, but what's your personal thoughts on fan groups that advocate for the return of old characters, like Rally4Sally, SaveCosmo, and JoinGun? Do you think groups like that are wasting their time and energy, or do you think it's still good for fans to have groups like that where they can come together and show their support?

looking back at archie and you know what I miss from Archie? Backup stories. I know you don't have any power over this, but does David M listen to the bumblekast? I'd bet IDW could benefit from having backup stories from time to time. Not every 4-issue arc needs a full 80 pages, some of them could do with only 60. You could even have backup stories from guest writers and such. Then again I don't think IDW books in general usually do backup stories. The only ones I can think of are TMNT Universe and Star Wars Adventures. Closest thing we get otherwise are Annuals (and 30th anniversary special). But still, Ya hear me David?

For the 30th anniversary, any particular reason IDW decided to go with a One shot classic Sonic comic, and not a 4 issue Arc/Mini-series like Archie did back in the day? Just curious as I'd imagine with a 4 issue arc there would be room for more story.

Seeing a building that looks identical to a familiar gambling and entertainment venue visited during a certain Adventure cast upon a Dream in a very recent comic starring the Nocturnal Echo-Locating Flying Mammal Man got me wondering which Sonic characters would fill which roles in the Batman franchise. Assuming Sonic takes the role of the Dark Knight himself, it's obvious that Tails would be Robin the Boy Wonder, but who could fill the rest of the slots?

One night you hear something rumbling around in your kitchen, you get out of bed wearing your dr. eggman themed pajamas while holding a baseball bat and flashlight. Tiptoeing out of your two-door room, you turn on your flashlight and say out loud, "anyone there?" before your eyes adjust you see a small shadowy figure scurrying towards you.

It's already near you in an instant, shooting your flashlight at it, it's revealed to be a 4 foot tall man wearing nothing but a blue mohawk bike helmet, a black clown nose, red boots, and mickey mouse gloves. Everywhere else besides his mouth, arms, belly, and legs; he's entirely covered in blue paint. He says to you, "Ian I need your help! P-please come with me!" he holds out his hand out to you, before then tackled by a very obese, bald, long mustached police officer, "don't you worry, he'll be away for a long time." he says.

You go back to bed and sleep. Next morning you get a call from IDW telling you that your back to being the main writer for their hit video game based comic series, and that they will tweet about it after hanging up. You hop on your pc to re-tweet the news until you read the full tweet, "IAN FLYIN IS BACK TO BEING THE HEAD WRITER FOR THE ICONIC VIDEO GAME MASCOT, BUBSY THE CAT!!"

Any opinions on Rouge’s changes in attire in Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog before settling on her original SA2 appearance? My memory betrays me in some crazy way, I could swear she looked completely different in Shadow’s game (I had skipped over Heroes even) but apparently only the colors are a bit off (particularly in her wings of all things). The obvious assumption is that Sega wanted to tweak how sexual she appeared to be but abandoned the effort, is there a narrative context you care to play with though?

I've always wanted to make my own sonic comic fanseries like sonic rebound and I was wondering if I could get your consent to do so and to base it on and the events of forces and the idw comics& use characters like Tangle and Whisper within my series also could I reintroduce Lupe the wolf in this series as well ?
