2024-02-15 19:25:06 +0000 UTCFirst of all thanks so much for all your fine fine work! and, a thought: (Crazy) King Ludwig 2 (born within a year or two of Nietzsche and Schreber) was already post modernist and built kitsch pastiche castles well before Disney (but they were only for him and his aristocratic buds, and aesthetically Gesammekunstwerke … so metaphysics (the secret) was more intact still). Arguably, Hollywood film is a vision of the Gesammekunstwerke for the masses. But, in other words, it’s hard for ‘the west’ to destroy its origins in Europe since Europe already did that both figuratively (ideas…Nietzsche, Ludwig 2, Schreber, Marx, Freud ) and literally (WW2). Thus, its hard not to see the American Dream, in all its themed territorial variations, the N W E S of it, as not simply stuck in an oedipal struggle with papi europa. Baudrillard included. Perhaps what is needed for a social political direction is more Schreber and less democratized Ludwig2… and thus maybe, philosophically, the direction set by DnG is more of a real difference?
