Baudrillard goes prophet in a big way in this one--the masses as the ultimate revenge of the object.

Comments

(1) Baudrillard does not care about truth, (2) he is offering an allegory as a literary, critico-theoretical exercise from which, (3) "real" conclusions cannot be derived, since to do so would defeat the purpose of the very notion of satirical pataphysics. Hence the "fatality" of the strategies presented.

I get joy joy from working hard thinking….but while in relation to others, not just in a solitary enterprise of overthinking alone. But when i can engage thought with another or even ( very hard to do) a group—-group dynamics being so difficult to sustain, I am happy for what it is worth. Also i think alienation is the fundamental structure of subjectivity. But it does appear that there is a displacement or disavowal of alienation, i agree, with the objectification of everything, including the subject It seems as if there is no question of alienation in the classical Marxian and Hegelian sense any more, but does it mean it has really vanished? Doubt it if i look around. Ppl seem crushed overall. But the ‘knowing they don’t know and that the masses don’t want to know… in the epoch of knowledge become information, seems true. And in that, alienation, which to be aware of, requires some in engagement at least in the fantasy of knowledge and truth, and that seems gone. Anyway… onto evil genie
