2023-06-10 20:28:43 +0000 UTCAlso, I recently gave a presentation on advertising in a media psychology class, and I found that Ernest Dichter was consulted by Matell back in the day about how to market Barbie, and while it was disliked by parents, daughters loved it because it presented the image of what they wanted to look like, it was an object of fantasy. So the advice he gave was to make the doll's breasts even bigger and sexualise it even more, and of course, this worked wonders in terms of sales.
