Ambiguity is inescapable, but is it an anti-externality or just being elevated as an another externality?

Hey pillpod (maybe particularly @victor). Do you speak/read French? (and if so, do you read French phil in French?)
I've always wanted to read Second Sex, but have heard such mixed comments on the two English translations (that they butcher parts/leave parts out (for the first translation in 1950s)/mistranslate/etc), that I wasn't sure. Wondering if you have any opinions on that
As you can tell by my dumb username, I do not speak French

Not at all a substantive comment, but this was one of my favourite episodes you guys have done - and I think it’s also pushed me out of ‘I’ll get to it later’ to actually read the Ethics

Parisian existentialism elicits the best images of philosophers in cafes thinking up theories alongside necessary gossip & the fundamental equation: Existentialism + ethics = ambiguity…

I can't believe you've gone to a Taylor Swift concert before I have. Recently I've been reading the fan theory that says she's gay.

I find it interesting that Victor understands this as an ethics of virtue. When i first read it 4-5 years ago i saw myself as a bit of a deontologist, and as such understood it in those terms. "One has a duty to act in such a way as to preserve ones own freedom, as well as the freedom of others." I don't much hold this view any more, point being, i guess we some times see in things what we want to.
Lastly: When Victor can put aside his whining about ClEaRiTy he's actually quite pleasant to listen to. Good stuff
