Alright, so I'm just gonna throw this out there, the whole Scourge topic brought up back during the last guest podcast had me really getting back into the idea of doppelgangers, and I'm NOT too sure this pushes the line between a Knowing Smile moment or something that can't really be said, but for Ian: given the enjoyment of writing Scourge and a Doppelganger here and there, would it interest you to try and write another sort of doppelganger to Sonic or any of his friends? As in, any doppelganger beyond Metal Sonic, something that can further delve into their character and how some of those aspects can be twisted into a rival or villain for the cast to act upon? And would SEGA allow you or even Evan to kinda try your hand at that or are they a little more strict with that whole premise given their stance on a lot of things in Sonic?

I've been listening to the Sonic 30th anniversary symphony a lot while I've been working lately, and I was wondering if you guys like to have music in the background while you work too (considering Kyle runs a video game music podcast, I guess it's a given for him)? If so, what's your go-to selection to listen to while you work?

I like reading about preternatural creatures, stuff like vampires, werewolves, goat men, etc etc. Have you ever considered writing a Sonic character based on anything like that? And I don't mean adapting werehog into a comic form, I'm mean creating your own character based off of some form of spookydook. Any chances of introducing a villain who's focused more on the supernatural and spooky instead of mechanical based threats? What about a Yeti/Sasquatch character?

Hi Ian. Would you ever want to use Little Planet, West Side Island, Flicky Island or South Island in the IDW Sonic comics? I know Green Hill has shown up, but it looked to be the Sonic Forces version, which was part of the continent on the game map.

Something's not adding up; a while back in the IDW Sonic News fan server Evan mentioned (and attached to this question is a screenshot) that the money policy isn't "there's not money" but "you can only talk about money in the context of specific characters", which kinda weird but makes way more sense. Yet even after she talked about it you still talk about the money thing like there's straight up no money and some of your extrapolations on how things are based on that have even made it into the comic with Zik's speech in issue 42. I'm not saying you're a liar, but something weird's going on(edited)

So since aliens exist in the Sonic Universe, have you ever wanted to explore what alien races could exist in the universe? Additionally, have you had ideas for Cosmic villains akin to the Skrulls, Kree or Darkseid you would want to add to Sonic rouge gallery?

Since money isn't a thing in Sonic's world...that seems to imply that jewels doesn't have a real value..so what does Rouge do with all the jewels she steals and find? Does she swim in them like Scrooge McDuck?

I know that many people wish for the main Freedom Fighters to return in Sonic IDW, but if I had to pick one character from Archie to return, it would be Mina Mongoose, she’s my favorite Sonic girl. I adore her character and personality and how her design is in the image of Japanese idol culture, she rocks. Ian, would it be possible at all for Mina to make a return to the franchise in Sonic IDW and other mainline media? Does Sega own her and have the rights to bring her back? If she was in Sonic IDW and mainline media would she still be able to have her same outfits and occupation of her music career as an idol? In a similar way to Tangle and Whisper, I feel that she could become a fan favorite in Sonic IDW and get merch and become playable in the Sonic app games. I also have these inquiries about Sega’s rights and character designs and occupations for Honey the Cat, Coral, Pearly, and Razor for Sonic IDW. I know that it may be wishful thinking for the chance for Archie characters to return, but if you can could you put in a word with Sega sometime that Mina and the other characters I mentioned do have fans and are wanted in IDW?

So Jakks Pacific made a Mecha Sonic figure. This would be the first piece of merchandise based on any Mecha Sonic that I know of. It’s also somewhat a confirmation that the Sonic 2 16-bit version of the robot is indeed named Mecha Sonic and not Robo Sonic or Silver Sonic. Thoughts on these revelations? Also, are there any other Sonic characters you’d really like to see merch of? Personally, I want every robot doppelgänger to have its own merch, preferably good merch. You remember that giant Metal Sonic figure that came out years ago? Yeah, give me one of those for every robot doppelgänger please. And an accurate Tails Doll plush.

If you saw it as “too creepy” for 11-year-old Archie Tails to ever find anyone who likes him back, what was the point of involving him so intimately in the Fiona relationship drama instead of leaving him out of it? The point had already been made that he was too young for her in issue 155 and previous, so why then put such an emphasis on Tails’ want for a romantic life in the story and have him be so personally humiliated by being rejected twice for Sonic/Scourge if he's never allowed to find anyone else who will actually return his feelings? Surely it’s more “creepy” deliberately putting the 11-year old through all that romantic humiliation just to say noone will ever love him back despite everything he's been through than it is to let him find someone more age-appropriate to return his feelings?

Ian: Would you ever want to bring back some of the random pieces of gear Sonic had in the past, like for example his extreme gear from Riders or Caliburn + his gauntlet from Black Knight? For some reason I love when Sonic characters have cool gear.

Does Archie sonic still have the ability to write And rewrite his own stories?

I know Princess Undina is a pufferfish/anglerfish hybrid. In the Missing Pirate Princess arc, we saw her esca light up as an anglerfish trait of hers. We also saw her father King Puff puff up in various scenes. Since Undina is part pufferfish, is she able to puff like her father King Puff. I always wondered this.

With the Sonic Movie sequel coming out next year and the 1st one being a success, how many Sonic Movies do you think will be made? I mean, seeing how they have the producer of The Fast and Furious franchise and the studio who make the Transformers movies (with more from both franchises on the way), I'm betting they'll milk Sonic and at least make it to 4 or 5.

I'm well aware of the legal problem involving Sonic Chronicles, but as I was making research on Emerl by replaying Sonic Battle, it just bugs me. Does the entirety of Chronicles is out of the question to be adapted in IDW? Because only Chronicles expanded on Emerl's origins, and Sega I imagine has the rights to use any of Chronicles's original Gizoids while ignoring the Echidnas.

Speaking of which, does Gemerl have any of Emerl memories, or is a Theseus Ship's situation, and Gemerl is a new being entirely?

Many fans have been wondering why does Mr. Flynn continue to compare Sonic X Season 3 to the IDW Comics darkest saga?

Granted plant cyborg aliens assimilating people by turning them into trees, and the death of the Molly (in the Uncut version), the Metarex leadership, and Cosmo was dark/emotional, but many have wondered why Mr. Flynn thinks that's darker than the near end of the world saga that happened so early in the IDW run while Sonic X did a big job building up the dark elements for the last few episodes. We've also taken note that Tangle and Sonic seemed to forget events that happened leading up to them Falling/Near-Falling, so does this mean Fallen people that were freed such as the Rabbit Family now have serious memory loss/ammnecia on the whole event? If so that combined with the fact the few survivors on the "Entire World" outright remember everything seems arguably far darker because the memories could cause Nightmares/PTSD as would be natural from surviving a traumatic series of events, and if that entire debacle was just thrown out in the narrative going forward it seems darker than the fact everyone at the end of Sonic X had to come to terms with the grief before moving on, especially Tails.

Are we going to find out what happened to Tumble's tail or more about the skunk brothers past in general? I feel like judging by Tumble's reaction, it must have left some kind of trauma. Are there going sad moments between the brothers? Because from what I noticed, those two seem actually lonelier than they let on. (Alone together forever comes to mind and usually they hate when others try to do their motto but in bad guys, they seem happy to let people in that they like), constantly seem to get used by other bad guys and seem to be really confused when people like Tangle show them any kindness, as if they never experienced something like that before?

Hi Ian, happy IDW Sonic 3rd anniversary! My question is: do you think we could see more from the Diamond Cutters in the future? I know that they are considered dead (evem though i have a theory that maybe i'll unveil later), but maybe we could see some flashbacks, or memories, or archives of past missions?

Also, i hope we can see more of them because... if you wanted to reference Metal Gear Solid, there are missing some pieces. Like some sort of... Boss... or a... (insert voice of Campbell) SNAAAAKE?

Ian, have you received word on government and/or geopolitics in Sonic's World? Are they just one big society or are there separate countries? If they are one big society, do they have a president like from Sonic OVA or a king?
