Try to make a pass on a exact straight line It going to veer 1 way or the other and be inaccurate. This is why players run the floor in lanes. No one should be in the same lane unless you are a late trailer who would be in the middle lane. If you are in the same lane but want to make the pass, either swing it a lane over for the better angle. Or dribble over lanes to get that angle.

I started playing some pick up ball at work about a year ago so I'm trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can!
