2020-12-21 04:47:08 +0000 UTCLanguages have different difficulty levels and how fast you learn them also depends on your mother tongue. For instance, learning other Indo-European languages will be easier for English speakers as the languages are related so the language grammar and / or vocabulary and logic are similar, whereas learning Korean will be much harder (since there are no similarities). In fact, Korean would be among the hardest for English speakers to learn. I imagine it will be similarly difficult for Korean speakers to learn English, even though in general English is slightly less difficult. I have to say that I would not have learnt to speak English fluently just by studying at school, for me it was reading Harry Potters at the age of 13 and listening to the audio books at the same time that really made me reach a more fluent level, but I did also stop using subtitles with movies and TV so I do relate to Namjoon's story as well :)

2020-12-19 23:52:37 +0000 UTCfun fact, namjoon went into detail and said he watched Friends 10 times with Korean Sub, English Sub and then no sub, amd he said it took him 3 years. If he watched a show that many times with all 10 seasons no wonder his English is good! 3 years is dedication... but it sounds cooler to say I watched Friends and learned English lilke that haha. This gives me hope with learning Japanese! 😁
