I donโt want a big wedding so planning mine will probably take about a year but that depends on the girl your marrying and how big you want the wedding

2024-02-04 19:25:44 +0000 UTCIn terms of how long the engagement lasts, it's up to the couple. I know people who were engaged for 6 months and had their wedding and some who had theirs after a year. I think 3 years is the usual. one of my BFFs and her bf are planning for a 3 year engagement because of how they want to hold their wedding.

My uncle-in-law had the ring in the glove compartment of the car and told my aunt to take out the small box in the glove compartment while he was driving to drop her off at home. When she did he told her to open it and asked her if she thought it was pretty and if she wanted to wear it forever. So I mean I guess everyone has different things that work for them lol. My aunt said she liked that it wasn't a whole event because that was how he was able to surprise her with the "when" even though they both knew they'd be getting married.

I know much better now ๐คฃ I think the time btwn engagement & marriage depends on both ppl. Personally, I wanted to wait at least 1 yr btwn engagement & marriage. Then Idk about different state laws (documentation is the same, but the order of things might be different. Idk). So I'll speak for my experience in NC. You apply for a marriage license & then you can have a wedding (or do it in 1 sweep at the courthouse). That can then lead to discussions about "What is our anniversary date then? The day we got our license or the date of our wedding?" Just like the wait time btwn engagement & marriage, that can also be defined by the couple.
