The Ocean Shrine itself is situated on a small island in Salt Lake ColVilous, only a short distance away from the coast. In order to reach such a frequently travelled destination, a watercraft transit system was developed to efficiently ferry travelers to the Ocean Shrine. This system uses a series of long ropes and machinery to pull boats to and fro in an ongoing loop, similar to a ski lift or gondola lift seen in modern-day Earth.
While the boat ride only lasts a brief moment in time, passengers often find it to be a rather enjoyable experience to relax and glide across the lake's surface — a rather stark contrast to the harsh conditions found elsewhere on Planet Tal. This would be a part of small and simple fun for Gold Ring citizens at time before the war.
