Intermission Art #10 — Gold Ring Government Administration

 Intermission Art #10

Gold Ring Government Administration Building

Today's intermission art features a depiction of Gold Ring's Government Administration building, which showcases breathtaking architectural design which the city of Gold Ring  is famous for. Terraced stories surround the main complex, with  walkways stemming outward into the city. The work of the city's  Gardeners is also on display, with lush Eltus plants  and hanging gardens adding their emerald beauty to the landscape.  Sometimes known as the "Golden Heart of the City", it is a delight to  behold by both nobles and common folk alike.

Within this marvelous building, laws and legal issues are discussed  amongst Gold Ring's finest Southern Noble representatives. On occasion  the members of the Council seek the advice of the enigmatic Talyxian Rooters  whose wise opinions on certain political topics can be helpful, though  otherwise the Rooters refrain from becoming involved with official Eltus  business. The standing Judda is present as well, though he or she does not weigh in on the affairs and merely acts as a public symbol of grace and beauty.

This system of the Judda can be compared to the Japanese Emperor  system. In it, the Emperor is "the symbol of the State and of the unity  of the people." and has "historically alternated between a largely  ceremonial symbolic role and that of an actual imperial ruler. Since the  establishment of the first shogunate in 1192, the Emperors of Japan  have rarely taken on a role as supreme battlefield commander, unlike  many Western monarchs." The difference between the Japanese Emperor and  the official Judda is that the Judda has no right to government at all,  and are treated as a public idol and the greatest living treasure of Gold Ring
