Potential Future Review
Added 2021-01-25 18:03:55 +0000 UTCSo, I saw Badlands for the first time not too long ago. Was thinking of giving it a proper review at some point. It is after all, what started it all for Mr. Mallick. If you've seen it, what are your thoughts on it?

I remember it took me multiple viewings to get through it. Intellectually, it's brilliantly made but emotionally, I had a hard time caring about what was happening. I had the same problem with Days of Heaven which I never got through entirely. It's been years though since I've seen them and I would like to reevaluate them.

2021-01-25 20:59:38 +0000 UTCIt's been awhile since I've seen it but I remember not quite loving it as many seem to. Like with most of Malick's movies, I usually feel like I need a second viewing to fully appreciate what he's saying or doing and even then they don't always work for me. The New World, The Tree of Life, and The Thin Red Line are his best in my opinion.
