Fellow Reviewers Out There
Added 2021-03-11 00:00:41 +0000 UTCI was wondering from you guys who are film critics, whether through youtube or you write them for an online blog or whatever, what movies overtime inspired you to become a critic?

When I was in 11th grade, I was taking a world history class and I opted to analyze three Eisenstein films for a paper. Looking back, that was my first serious attempt at film criticism. Also, seeing Chuck Workman supercuts during the Oscars in the early 90s inspired me to make video essays.

It was the first time a movie truly captivated me with Audrey Hepburn's mesmerizing performance, iconic soundtrack, and a simple story that managed to pack in more depth than any other movie I've seen up to that point. Despite it's issues that I can see more clearly today, it changed my perception on cinema forever and I will always hold it up as one of my top films of all time.
