sounds nice

I've never seen that one. But I'd be interested in it. I struggle with the 2003 version that everyone seems to love. So much so, that I dont think I've ever finished it

It wasn't too bad, i guess. Still working to get this used bookstore off the ground, haha. Spent a decent chunk of my day figuring out glitches in the website and POS system, typical Monday.

One of my favorite movies, A Patch of Blue, was on Turner Classic Movies yesterday as part of their Black History Month marathon. That relationship between Sidney Poitier and Elizabeth Hartman is so profound and tragic. They also played Selma which I never saw before and thought it was refreshing to see a modern film about race that wasn't woke trash and actually really genuine and intelligent. Also, I'm replaying the original Final Fantasy 7 again.

I'm replaying Knights of the Old Republic. Really the only Star Wars story i really love.

Taxes and a chiropractor appointment. Fun stuff. But I just got tickets to a Van Gogh exhibit this spring. So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.

Not much, just finished the fifth week of a screenwriting course for beginners and just kicking back now with an ale or two while deciding what to watch this evening...

Oh ya know, just fretting about WW3… lol

Oh, what can I say? Good.

Just watched a Brazilian film called Bacurau, 2019. Such an interesting genre mix, very well made I thought. As a Brazilian, I was very happy to watch a film where the social commentaries are layered, in contrast to the usual superficial and simplistic political messages laid out in films for the recent decades (even great ones like City of God, or Elite Sqad). You can watch Bacurau on Mubi, if you have it :)

Doing good, enjoying a rare 4-day weekend. Binged a couple old movies I've been meaning to see.

Started going through the entire Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise cause its been a minute since I binged a shitty horror series. Obviously nothing will ever touch the first film but Texas Chainsaw 2, also directed by Tobe Hooper, is such a wild, bold and hilarious sequel. It's like the complete polar opposite in that it trades grit and a washed out color palette for extreme camp and literal Christmas lights. No masterpiece but honestly a super fun watch.
