I was asked recently by someone how I got into doing portraits and faces as an artist. I had no idea what to tell them. I don't really remember. But I was at my parents house recently sorting through some things, when I came across my old sketch pads from childhood. Was very interesting going through them, because I haven't seen them in many years. These were all done when I was ages 9 and 10. Clearly I had the patience for the detail then too. But yeah, age 9 is when the portraits started emerging as a point of interest. Then beyond that, I believe I did portraits almost exclusively in the teen years. I remember being super proud of the back of the jacket on the guy playing the violin. But the rest of these, I either don't remember doing, or I barely remember.
