Bambi
Added 2021-09-21 06:07:03 +0000 UTCI just saw the third act of Bambi randomly...which terrified me as a child far more than the death of the mother, for whatever reason. Haven't seen any of this film in over 25 years likely, but I'm realizing how much Fox and the Hound copied many elements of the big climax with the hunters.

Agreed. Even as a kid I was drawn to the more slow, soporific quality to the older films, and their boldness to be more macabre.

One of my favorite things to do with Disney movies is the watch for animation cells that show up again in more contemporary movies, the hippos from Fantasia appearing in Aladdin, for example.
