I’m not sure if she’s rated highly in the first place, although she does have a couple of Golden Globes under her belt, but I think Jamie Lee Curtis is a terrible actor. In fact, I wouldn’t even use the word actor to describe her. Maybe “performer” . But dear God she is so self-aware with no range.

2021-11-16 01:32:06 +0000 UTCJohnny Depp. I get why he became so beloved: he was a handsome heartthrob who sought to play gentle, eccentric weirdos at a time when leading men sought to play charmers and tough guys. On a few occasions he was great at it (Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands). He made being weird seem cool, and even managed to give a solid dramatic performance (Donnie Brasco). But things took a turn after he first played Jack Sparrow, his most inspired creation, and became a superstar. He became trapped in big-budget projects, and his work deteriorated into mere quirkiness and mannerisms. He became convinced that it was enough to put on a crazy wig and a funny voice and call it a performance. By the time The Lone Ranger came out, he was done. But even looking back at his ‘90s heyday, I have doubts that his work measures up to his contemporaries. He can be a very recessive actor, sometimes overshadowed by his costars (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) or even the entire movie (Dead Man). He was never as forceful or compelling as Sean Penn, and never as madly inspired and daring in his eccentricity as Nicolas Cage, who really took things to the limit. He’s not a bad actor, but never as good as people say he is. He was never one of our best.

She is an incredible dancer and has an amazing stage presence but I feel she lacks depth in her characterizations. She is always watchable but I feel she doesn’t belong in the “great actresses of all time” discussion.

2021-11-11 02:42:56 +0000 UTCDwayne Johnson. He reminds me a lot of when Burt Reynolds started doing nothing but the same type of role in action comedies after Smokey and the Bandit. I don't know if he's a good actor because I've never seen him try to act outside of the most basic beginner level roles.

2021-11-11 02:17:39 +0000 UTCSAM ROCKWELL!! He does the EXACT same performance in like everything he's done, whether it's drama or comedy. Hell, Vince Vaughn has shown more range than he has.

2021-11-11 01:36:13 +0000 UTCTimothee Chamelmet! I see so many people anointing him as this young Heath Ledger, Johny Depp type. But even though those actors were heart throbs at their peak They would lose themselves in their roles and stripped away any kind of vanity. He’s a one trick pony, who just comes off too self conscious for me to buy into any character he plays. I mean casting him as Willy Wonka is a joke.
