Odysee
Added 2021-11-15 22:05:54 +0000 UTCThe censorship on Youtube is getting more and more extreme. I see no signs of stopping it. I've been considering including content on Odysee as well, since viewership is growing, and your ability to comment and express opinion is not as rigid. What are your opinions on it, if you know what it is? If you have insight, I'm all ears. I'm fairly new to the whole thing.

I don't plan on abandoning Youtube anytime soon. Just looking to expand for the future just in case.

2021-11-16 04:40:20 +0000 UTCI share your concerns and sympathies about censorship by Silicon Valley. The issue with alt-social media platforms is that they're missing the key element that makes social media useful: everyone uses it. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube are the most popular platforms out there. I would say that you should not abandon Youtube entirely. It would not be a bad idea to mirror all of your content on other platforms though. If you do have some crimethink then you could post that naughty content on that alternative platform and advertise for it on your Youtube.

2021-11-15 22:38:19 +0000 UTCYou can certainly get on that algorithm, but there's a lot of normal stuff too. I'm just saying there's no cooking tips or adobe premiere tutorials on Gab or other mainstream social media alternatives. Odysee seems to have that stuff which is good.

2021-11-15 22:36:33 +0000 UTCYeah. But to be fair...Youtube is a hellhole of political extremism already ><

2021-11-15 22:36:01 +0000 UTCNever heard of it before, but I am pleasantly surprised to see it has some normal content and isn't a hellhole of political extremism. No harm in cross-posting. I say go for it.

2021-11-15 22:34:19 +0000 UTCYeah. Branching out is basically mandatory now. One other channel I follow moved to Locals.com several months ago which is pretty cool. It lets you upload videos, stream live content, post forums, and is free speech. You can even show copyright material without having to worry. The channel I follow did a subscriber only movie live stream of Idiocracy last month and uploaded it to the forum for those who missed it and no copyright strike happened. It's basically Patreon but more and better. I'd recommend looking into it.

2021-11-15 22:15:01 +0000 UTCNo, not me personally. But in terms of comment regulation, it's a serious problem. Getting rid of negative comments and dislikes to "protect the content creators" is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard. And I'm not for it.

2021-11-15 22:10:12 +0000 UTCHave you been getting flagged and or supressed? My knowledge regarding the great and mighty YouTube AI is rather limited.
