2024-12-03 19:26:46 +0000 UTCI do believe that these two are genuinely proud of their work, but my goodness, it just comes off so heavily dramatic (TRYHARD) if you will - to promote this. Sometimes I wonder if these two are smarter than we think, and that they're doing this on purpose, knowing it would cause a reaction and make everyone talk about this movie more than it's already been advertised - forcing more to be intrigued and go watch it. I wonder if Cynthia and Ariana saw the negative press behind 'Don't Worry Darling' and 'It Ends With Us' and thought, hmm, let's make a splash too - but more spiritually and emotional and get the people talking about how "in sync" we are. If so, they achieved their goal. Lol. I don't know - food for thought.

2024-11-29 22:33:33 +0000 UTCWatching this, I can’t help but think of that ‘Dark Side of Hollywood & Wizard of Oz’ video from EmpLemon where he discusses all of the physical and mental torment the cast of the 1939 film went through. I’m not saying artists should experience great pain to create beautiful art, but actually being challenged to push yourself further than expected is a powerful thing. I can tell both of their huge egos were never remotely challenged by the director, crew, or anyone. They never would’ve made it in the 1939 Land of Oz.

Though Cynthia is the real piece of work. Putting aside her meltdown over the Photoshopped poster earlier in the month, it was pointed out to me that when the interviewer tries to talk about her own struggles, Cynthia immediately steers the topic back to her own pain and difficulties. Because this is about her, and what she went through. There is ego buried underneath all this “emoting”, and “light and joy”, and that’s why it’s insufferable.
