CEO Murder

I just keep picturing a Sopranos situation. This kid who is person of interest, is Jackie Jr. in my mind. He's young, and he makes the idiotic mistake of showing his smile to some young receptionist at the hostel. When you have a smile like that...best to hide it, duh. And the moment that surveillance image of him without the mask made national news...some Tony Soprano mobster type who is behind it...is trashing his office yelling "this mudda fuckah!" XD

I thought of that too. More I thought about JOKER. Him killing some important corporate elites in a subway. Everyone is supposed to feel remorse. Instead he's viewed as a hero lol.

I was just talking with a friend about how the internet and social media becoming obsessed with him and digging up his entire digital footprint is making me think of Red Rooms. Very different cases, but the obsession with true crime and projection onto the perpetrator is very spot on. Maybe I’m due for a rewatch…

He does have a very Joker smile, doesn't he?

To me it's very Joaquin in Joker. Sloppy killing of some corporate elites. Runs away. Media narrative says he's a villain, the public says he's a hero for standing up to the establishment lol. Cynical stuff for xmas of course.

I was thinking of Barry, just in the sense that the hitman is just, like, some dude who went to Starbucks beforehand and uses public transportation. Every step of the plan is so unglamorous. The gun jamming is also kind of, darkly funny. I could just hear him muttering "god fuckin dammit!" under his breath. To be fair, though, Barry wouldn't have been caught smiling.

The thing that strikes me was how he apparently traveled by bus to do this. From Georgia to New York, he had literal days to think and bow out if he wanted to. That's some psychotic levels of commitment.
