When he said “hey steve” i got scared

Steven de Vet

The link died, I can't listen! :'(

Tailmartian

I'm am super iffy on this episode. Sure its good but I think they will squander all of it. I'm very skeptical Chip can do anything with it.

Joseph Howard

SPOILERS The last time we saw a "second" Doctor, Jack and Cybermen together is when we had all the parallel/alternate universe stuff in Doomsday. Everything must be leaning into parallel timelines/universes

SamPhoenix

I just discovered that all 4 seasons of The Thick of It are free with Amazon Prime! I know what I'm doing this weekend

Ian Hutchison

Spoilers: See I don't think RuthDoctor is actually a future doctor. Jack mentioned something sent back in time to stop the cybermen - what if what they sent back in time was the doctor? Erase her memories and at some point she regenerates. Explains the TARDIS being a police box plothole too

Yunas

Doctor Who is a superhero. Captain Jack is a hero. The difference is that, although heros and superheros never give up hope, only superheros never fail. Which is where Torchwood fell down. They didn't quite sell Torchwood as superheros and with the power of all the extra-terrestrial threats, they didn't rationally stand a chance.

I’m a American named Jeni I’m your biggest fan dad I have seen every video and post and podcast u have ever made multiple times

Jenifer W

I was spoiled by the Doctor Who youtube channel. Immediately unsubscribed and watched the episode.

Roby de Visser

I’ve always wanted to do the screwdriver thing to get into the building. Unfortunately it uses a plain card and I’m not ready to dissect it.

ICE Trance

Did nobody else catch on to the fact that the Doctor, who is known for showing humans all of time and space, after becoming Ruth decided to be a tour guide?

Joseph Henderson

Yeah that's also where I thought they were going with that

Joseph Henderson

Oh my god, "is that a sonic screwdriver in your pocket or are you just happy to see me" is lethally hilarious.

FlamingYeti

Even though I had had the Captain Jack reveal spoiled I still had the biggest smile on my face when I heard his voice. I honestly can't waut to see where this series is going (even though it has a very high chance to crash and burn). Also a minor request of if Picard is going to be talked about on this podcast could there be a timestamp so that the Picard talk can be skipped as I'm not currently watching it and don't want it spoiled.

Zion Aitken

Got the this episode late. Had the fact that Jack was back spoiled for me but nothing else. Totally weird. But this is turning into something I always hoped they would do with Doctor Who. Have the Doctor meet a version of them self that they don't know and ultimately don't like and they are saddled with the conundrum of what to do about your own self. Do you defeat yourself for the greater good? Super excited to see what becomes of this. I guess it's too late to sell the BBC my script.

UnSafeStu

SHIT there being 2 doctors was totally fucking with Jack's scoop as well, poor guy, he'd have had a field day

Emma Jacob

When Ruth came out in her doctor outfit I had a moment where I though she was going to say she was the master.

Justin Norman

Dear Struan, I once stayed at Struan Guest House in the town of Struan. It was run by a Mr. and Mrs. Struan and as they were showing us our room their dog jumped on the bed and Mrs. Struan shouted to it "Och, Struan get down!" Thank-you for reminding me of how much that incident amused me :-)

Patrick Jackson

Great show gents. He was right about Edge! "On this day, I see clearly" You did know that guy. He was one of the main characters in Game On years ago, and he did really well in Celebrity Masterchef in recent years (turned out his dad was a professional chef).

Patrick Jackson

Something else Lore-Wise I think they're hinting at - The Inevitability of the Cybermen. They've had like three origin stories at this point, which the Doctor even mentioned (they always show up). Then Cpt Jack mentions that 'The Alliance' sent something back in time. Was it the Lone Cyberman? Did 'The Alliance' (maybe the Time Lords) send the Cyberman back? Did the Time Lords create the Cybermen? Probably not, but something to think about

Alastair Haig

Dan, Mike Bithell mentions philosophical tv, you should look up a book series called Pop Culture and Philosophy. They just recently published a "Philosophy and The Good Place" Book.

Max Tal

I feel the show is struggling in some episodes due to too many companions. In previous series, there was 1 maybe 2 for a while, meaning you could have 3 other characters introduced and explored in an episode. In 13's run theres 3, meaning you enter every episode with 4 characters before adding the episode specific ones so everyone ends up with less development. I feel they need a single new companion to replace our current 3, or they need to find excuses to rotate the 3 we have.

Struan Robertson

Dan, I would absolutely love it if you did a Steven Universe podcast!

Joel Coxhead

I Just remember that Missy did tell Clara that the Doctor was a girl before, in the magician's apprentice, when she Says "Since always. Since the Cloister Wars. Since the night he stole the moon and the President's wife. Since he was a little girl. One of those was a lie. Can you guess which one?" and doctor later reveals in hell bent "It was the President's daughter. I didn't steal the moon, I lost it."

Dylan Tavares

The last time i saw the jadoon were at the pandorica

Jack Jones

Not listened to the Podcast yet, but saw this comment - he did, I think he was a Time Lord Bodyguard like Gat, just with the same bionic shielding (but not a memory wipe).

Alastair Haig

I had a phone that overheated to the point of crashing. I was once talking to my gf, now wife, on it when at a friends house when it did that so my quick thinkiing, slightly drubk, self threw it in the fridge for a few minutes, buying myself another couple of minutes talking to her... This repeated ad infinitum until i went home.

Zumigal

except didnt that lee dude make a comment about 'typical humans' to the, cafe owner guy. like. so was he just...?

elis one l

http://www.tvgohome.com/ you might recognise "Cunt"

David Eastman

Ha, TVGoHome

David Eastman

I can fast forward i guess

David Eastman

I'm betting the mystery they set up is either: split timeline shenanigans, OR parallel universe weirdness, OR DNA replication trickery OR the Master messing with her

Zoe Bateman

Sort of ruined things by mentioning Avenue 5 - i'll erase that mention

David Eastman

I am Bick pentameter

elis one l

i loved the episode just the shit with the doctor and her other self was shit but i did do a little dance when jack came back cus i could tell it was him from when we saw the ship i just had a feeling then i heard his voice and then i knew

Jack Jones

I fucking loved this episode, it's got me giddy for doctor who now. 9/10 some things could have been better but this was the best Jodie episode and on par with the best of Tennant.

UnknownEmrys

It's a 1 for definite

James Tann

RE: Judoon in Smith's era, we saw some in Pandorica Opens and A Good Man Goes to War.

Jen Campbell

Picard spoilers as well? Noooo. Guess I can’t listen to this this time then. Thanks for the warning at least.

Megan Walker

This episode was a distinct 5/10, sorry to be in that crowd. I really wanted to love it, but it just felt so off 😭
