No problem with it feeling disjointed or disconnected despite it being entirely optional, it just gives you more story to enjoy. And the "horror" is literally no worse than the anglerfish

2021-10-02 15:20:41 +0000 UTCThe horror elements in the expansion are no scarier than the angler fish, and not as frequent as it seems either. If you use the less frights option, its 100% worth it. Almost as beautiful as the original game, and that's my best game of all time.

2021-10-02 14:39:14 +0000 UTCDan, as someone who has completed and playtested the Outer Wilds DLC, I can confirm it's 100% worth it. It's basically an expansion pack, it's a whole new planet with an interconnecting story to the main game in a perfect way. It does have a lot of horror but there's a "less scary" option that really helps. The ending made me genuinely cry, and I never do that for games. I really urge you to play it.
