You Can Now Pledge in British Pounds (£), Euros (€), or U.S. Dollars ($)
Added 2020-08-07 12:33:09 +0000 UTCHello!
Patreon has done some changes, and there's a nice new feature (finally). Everyone in the UK, EU and U.S. can now pledge to this Patreon in their local currency of British Pounds (£), Euros (€) or U.S. Dollars ($), rather than just U.S. Dollars like before! Not only is this cleaner looking, but also means you shouldn't have to pay any currency conversion fees if your local currency is £ or €. If you're already a Patreon, this is something you have to change in your account settings.
Patreon rounds the currency conversions to the nearest 0.50 - So for example, the lowest $1 tier costs £1 in the UK, and €1 in eurozone countries.
For anyone visiting this page for the new time, tiers will priced in their local currency of £, € or $. For those of you who would like to switch your preferred currency (Which I highly recommend) you can follow these steps:
- On Patreon.com, hover over your avatar in the top right of your screen.
- Click Manage memberships.
- Find this page, and click Edit.
- Under Currency, choose your preferred currency.
- Click Update to save your settings.
For those of you outside of these currencies, you’ll continue to see your pledge priced in my currency.
Check out this help center article if you have questions about changing your currency, or this article if you have questions about how tiers are priced in these new currencies.

What about my dollarydoos? 😂
2020-08-21 16:42:28 +0000 UTCWell, this certainly makes it easier, switched to euro now, hope it doesn't affect your earnings too much, although I seem to remember 1euro is technically more than 1 dollar, so you might actually get more, and I don't have to pay a conversion fee anymore! (Still have to add VAT tho so that's €1,21 but that's fine.)
2020-08-08 08:09:48 +0000 UTCWoot woot, pumped for other currencies to get added, though giving in Canadian dollars might have the opposite effect of what I want to do.
2020-08-07 19:50:38 +0000 UTCI used to pledge 90p a month in dollars but since the £ has gone to shit I'm more than happy to switch to £1 per month 😂

2020-08-07 13:38:07 +0000 UTCQuite sure Matt will answer better than I can, but I'm guessing it's either a staggered roll out, or creators need to opt in. I'm a patron to a few creators from the UK, USA and Australia - but I can only change this one from USD.
2020-08-07 12:56:04 +0000 UTCWill this happen to all creators or only people in UK (for example) or will they have to change it? You seem to be the only one I can change but follow a couple uk creators

2020-08-07 12:46:46 +0000 UTCWe preference £ because that's our local currency, and soon Patreon will actually be paying out to us in £ - So we won't have to pay a 2.5% currency conversion fee on our Patreon earnings, which will be nice! But at the end of the day, it's your choice and your preference, we appreciate it no matter what. :D - Matt

2020-08-07 12:43:37 +0000 UTCSadly it's only just those three currencies for now, but I think Patreon is working to add more in future. -Matt

2020-08-07 12:41:42 +0000 UTCDoes it make any difference to you which currency patrons pay with? I'm in a position where I'm not charged a currency conversion fee, so it doesn't matter to me which currency I'm charged in. If you get more of the share in a particular currency, that's the one I'll use 👍🏽
2020-08-07 12:37:22 +0000 UTCThanks Matt!
