It's back, and very late.. but also early! It's available here and on the MATN Patreon (and his YouTube Memberships, whatever that is) 2 weeks early!

There's also a version on YouTube, if you prefer a video: https://youtu.be/pBurnmNuiSM

Edit: New YouTube link because the original one got stuck in processing hell.

On the topic of VR games being a 20-minute gimmick, Battlegroups VR is the one game I regularly play for 10 hours straight in VR. It's a roguelike RTS that you control from the bridge of your fleet's flagship, it's so much fun.

Seconded! I'm a bit of a lurker but Podcats are a bit of a comfort listen for me, and have been listening to them all on and off every year since they started 😅😅 I just love the chemistry and genuine fun these 3 seem to have together

I was a long time windows user until i bought a MacBook because i wanted something more portable, Apple silicone is insane, much faster than my desktop. I was also apprehensive if i would like MacOS but honestly its a very good experience, i would describe it as linux but extremely well polished, not had any issues. Would def recommend Dan

I've just picked up an Meta/Oculus Quest 2, and it's pretty good. The ONLY reason that I decided that the Quest 2 was a viable purchase now was that the whole Facebook is no longer forcing you to link up to them to track and monitor you. It doesn't even require constant online connection any more, which is also good. There's apps already where you can share the virtual space with others, viewing the same movie, with the others showing up in the app. It's classic Apple to charge far more than the competition for tech that's often lower quality than the competition. They push the idea that their stuff is better than everyone else, when it's only marketing. Same old same old. More and more people are leaving Apple as time goes on, so hopefully their time is limited, fingers crossed.

I like the idea that Snow White was a vampire ;-) Neil Gaiman did probably the darkest version of reversed Snow White, called "Snow, Glass, Apples".

i dont normally comment but i just want to say how much i love the podcats. It always manages to cheer me up and i've listened to every episode more times than i would be comfortable admitting. Thank all of you for the show it really brightens up my day no matter how crap its going :)

So in regards to VR in the workplace conversation, my dad is an engineer at a very large agricultural tractor/farm equipment manufacturer. He once told me that they at one point had a big room that was meant for seeing 3D designs in VR. The headset worked by covering up one eye and then switching to cover the other eye very very fast. And with each flick, the screen would switch to the perspective of the eye that could see. So it would give the illusion of 3D VR. And this was years before VR was even slightly commercially viable in the gaming industry. But that is still a very niche instance.
