I've been a pretty silent follower up to this point. I've been following the NerdCubed channel since late 2011. I'm not sure how long I've pledged to the Patreon at this point, but Daniel has been one of the very top internet people for me for practically half of my life at this point. I've listened to and watched countless hours of podcasts and livestreams respectively. This development is truly heartbreaking. I've followed the disgusting misadventures of the ridiculous, destructive person they ended up living next to the whole way and each time I couldn't believe that they were getting worse each time. This, however, just takes the cake. I don't understand how people can be so heartless, cruel, and downright insidious toward others that are just trying to live their lives. Please, Daniel, Rebecca, take all the time you need to look after yourselves and your animals. We'll still be here when things get back to where you can be more comfortable x

2025-04-14 12:06:03 +0000 UTCIt is so sad to hear that a family who loves animals so much and has done so much for them (pets and wildlife alike) has had the misfortune to have neighbours who seem to have the complete opposite attitude about animals (on top of everything else they've done in the past). You are both lovely human beings who don't deserve this at all, and I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this (and for so long).

2025-04-04 17:46:53 +0000 UTCAs someone who works as a pest controller (I'm listening to this podcast while at work), I cannot tell you how fucking angry I am at your neighbour. You have to be so fucking careful when using poison, especially with pets and wildlife nearby. I can also tell you the poisons they've used have almost certainly been used incorrectly and they're probably not even supposed to be allowed to obtain them. Most consumer grade poisons are useless, to kill three rats in a short space of time means they probably have some professional grade equipment that they don't have a license to use in the uk (I'm in Scotland, idk where about you are but restrictions are super important and are taken seriously. Strongly recommend reporting them. Wildlife agencies will not look kindly on them at all).
