From The Messy Desk of Rebecca - HELLO!

For the first time in this Patreon’s history you’re getting a post from me! (Rebecca, Hi)

I’m terrible at writing things and even worse at filtering out unnecessary information to solely focus on what’s important so Daniel might edit this down :P

Up until this month I have not handled anything to do with the Patreon. I paid to read this Patreon just like all of you, and like all of you I’ve never seen or interacted with the backend of the Nerd³ Patreon either. I would draw art and put it in a Dropbox, then sometimes get told there was money in the bank account and that I should order them. Sometimes they would get ordered for me. I would receive the prints, sign them and then hand the big box of prints over for them to head to Matt for shipping. I basically had very little to do with them, which is not my preferred way of working.

Now though, I’m very excited to be actually in charge of the prints! Weee! (Also, now co-running the company with Daniel! Weeeeee!) From now on I will be designing them, doing the art, arranging to have them printed, receiving them, signing them, printing labels, putting labels on them, and then driving them to a big post facility! I am excited! One thing to note is that I’m still not going to be packaging them. While I have done this job in the past, I can’t do it anymore due to issues with my elbow (I think I have my Grandmas tennis elbow ☹), so Daniel will be packing all of them up each month, first into the protective sleeve, then into the envelopes. In return, I’m going to be running the finances of the company. Pretty fair I think.

 I also have an entirely new job of social media manager! This means I’ll be posting about new videos to BlueSky each week, (https://bsky.app/profile/dan.nerdcubed.co.uk) answering all the enquiries sent into the Patreon, and trying not to reblog inappropriate images on the brand new Tumblr! (https://www.tumblr.com/nerdcubed) I have already started on all of these, and since I haven’t done a job like this before you might have to bear with me – I’m not the most sociable but I love hearing from you and I love helping so I hope you’re happy with the responses you receive (feel free to tell me if you’re not!).

Now, the most important part. The prints. Where are they? When can you expect to have your lovely little mitts on them?

Big changes have happened at Nerd³ due to financial reasons, so even though I’m in charge and would love nothing more than to just print and ship them all until we’re caught up, I’m unfortunately bound by what money is available. That obviously does not fill you with confidence (I understand), and while I can promise you that you will get them, I am ultimately just a stranger on the internet and so I think we need to do more.

We decided that a Trello would be the best way to keep you all updated and hopefully provide some comfort that we didn’t just take your money and run. This way you know what’s missing, when it should be arriving, and when to message me saying it didn’t turn up. Hopefully it takes some potential anxiety out of the situation. You can find it here:

You’ll notice on this Trello that we don’t have all the print art prepared for every month we’re behind yet – that’s for two reasons. The main reason being that I’ve been incredibly unwell from Autistic burnout, and while I wanted to make sure we had enough prints ready to go, I have been trying to not push myself if I don’t need to, so being ahead but not being complete. (Daniel Note: We’ve never been in a situation where we had money for prints and Rebecca didn’t have a set ready to go. You’re in good hands here.) Secondly is that time is passing, my skill is changing, and the games we’re excited to see prints of is also changing. I’ve done some prints that I’ve ditched in favour of more relevant and fun references, and sometimes I’m working on something and I just get bored. Without a looming deadline I’ve been afforded the luxury of ditching those prints and changing for other’s that I’m much more excited about. And I am SO excited about some of the prints coming up! I am so proud of some of them, and I cannot wait to hear your reactions to them. Honestly for me both of these points have been a positive, but I understand how they could not be perceived as being that way if you’re waiting for them to arrive. I’m hoping, however, that you maybe feel differently when they’re in your hands!

I’ve also heard from quite a few of you that you enjoy the Patreon print videos, regardless of if you’re receiving them or not, so don’t worry these will continue!

I read every comment that every one of you posts on here, Discord, YouTube, and a lot of them on Twitch, but usually I direct them to the relevant person if I feel like something needs to be done or I just enjoy them…silently. I’m going to try (making no promises) to be better at actually posting a reply, and I hope that my new position will boost my replying confidence!

I know I’ve asked for a lot from you but I’m going to ask for one more thing, and that is to bear with me while I find my feet with all of these new jobs. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have below, and I’ll do my best to provide answers.
